One to One Counselling
Hello and welcome, my name is Julie
Sometimes life can be difficult, we may struggle to cope and can’t see the wood for the trees. We may feel we have no choices and no one is listening. Taking that first step can be daunting.
Counselling allows you to talk with someone who is trained to listen attentively and will support you through those difficult times.
It’s about helping you to make your own choices and decisions and take responsibility for your own life.
My philosophy is based within the safe and trusting relationship between client and counsellor. A confidential space to share and explore your thoughts and feelings in a calm environment. This can lead to a greater self awareness and understanding enabling you to gain insight and the power to make positive changes. We all have the potential to grow and flourish and create an inner balance which brings us peace of mind. I believe our experience of childhood shapes our adult lives and defines our self concept which can have lasting implications. Unravelling these layers can be empowering and liberating.
During this difficult time I am currently not doing face to face sessions but I am offering all my clients telephone sessions
I am a professionally qualified integrative counsellor and I offer a warm, calm, welcoming, non judgemental place for you to explore your feelings.
My style is integrative and I work with aspects of these approaches.
• Psychodynamic ( exploring past experiences and childhood )
• CBT ( changing negative thought patterns into positives )
• Humanistic ( person centred, individual needs )
My work is also informed by life experience and all the challenges that life brings along the way. Family and personal history are important factors in understanding who we are. As a counsellor I am sensitive to your needs. I have a natural understanding and empathy and a genuine need to help people.
I practice from comfortable, friendly counselling rooms in Hillingdon and Ruislip. I offer 60 minute sessions for £40, concessions available for those on low income. Initial session including assessment £20. I also offer home visits if required. I am available
Mon - Sat with daytime and evening sessions.
As a member of the BACP I work within the ethical framework and I have 5 years of counselling training including my own personal counselling.

"I have known Julie for approx. 4 years. During this time she has helped me through a very difficult phase of my life. She has been able to help me work through a number of difficult issues that were not easy to resolve on my own and did not wish to discuss with friends or close family members. Her support has been invaluable and I have been able to shift some things, view some in a different light and start to move on with my life. Her ability to do this in an empathic, caring way was at the heart of everything that we achieved. I am more than happy to recommend her to others in my position."
"I initially met Julie when she enrolled as a mature student at the college where I taught Psychology over 7 years ago. We have since remained in contact and I have got to know her very well. She has been very supportive of some recent personal issues I have been experiencing but has shown great integrity on setting boundaries. Julie has all the personal attributes that make her suitable as a highly successful counsellor. She is extremely patient and has a selfless compassion for other people. Her ability to listen in a non judgemental manner makes her very approachable, understanding and trustworthy. Having a natural instinct and inner wisdom to respond appropriately to peoples problems is her greatest skill and I feel confident in her ability to truly help people who are seeking professional help."

A huge thank you for the enormous role you have played in my recovery. I found our sessions invaluable and was constantly amazed at the level of detail you could recall and understand. You also completely ' got ' the faith element of my life and made that easy for me to include in our conversations. I know this is your job which you carry out in a highly professional manner but your sincerity and genuine care for people shine through. Thank you Julie you've helped me more than you'll ever know. Take care and God bless.
